Polo Clinics

The Polo School gives lessons al throughout the year; therefore, you can coordinate your trips with the most suitable option.
We organize practices and polo clinics than range from a full day to four or more days with full boarding in the Estancia.

Never played polo (or ridden a horse!) before?

Not a problem - our Beginners polo Lesson is just right for you!

During the 2 hour introductory Lesson, we will lead you, in a group lesson with other new polo players,
through a graduated programme of learning the rules and tactics, the polo swing and polo riding on a
polo pony that is geared to your level of riding experience - from the non-rider to the experienced rider.

You will then after some 'stick and ball' practice at hitting the ball from the pony and have some fun!

Optionally, after the lesson you can take part in additional Instructional Chukkers for an additional charge.
You can further develop your new found skills with other players who are also just getting started in the sport.

Bring your family and friends! After you all enjoy some polo, have a picnic in the grounds and watch the
club matches, or have lunch at one of the beautiful local pubs that abound in the town

During the 1 1/2 hour Beginners 2 Lesson, we will build on the work done in the Beginners 1
taking you to the next level in your polo career! It features more time on horseback and an instructional
chukker is included in the price.

The format is:

9.30 Polo swing practice on crates with emphasis on offside forehand and backhand
10.00 Recap of rules on horseback & riding technique
10.30 Stick & balling in the arena
11.00 Break
11.30 Instructional chukka


Cost: 1 1/2 hour Beginners 2 Lesson - usd 155

Optional Additional Chukkers - usd 35 each

Each day's tuition is normally based on the programme shown below, but can be tailored to suit your specific skill level
and needs if required. The structure of the course is designed to develop a range of skills incorporating exercises that
increase in complexity as your skills level progresses.

Daily Programme

10.00am Arrive and be welcomed with morning coffee and a discussion on the plan for the day.
10.15am Warm up exercises.
10.30am Demonstration of the polo swing.
10.45am Begin with a concentrated session on the horse, learning or rectifying the basic polo swings to improve
both accuracy and direction.
11.45am Polo Riding. Improve your skills, concentrating on the general aids, stopping, turning and balance on the horse.
1.00pm Theory over lunch - General discussions on the rules and regulations, penalties and positions etc..
A variety of topics and questions are discussed in depth.
2.30pm Free time
3.00pm Discussion time & Polo theory. Some of the following aspects will be covered: Umpiring and Refereeing,
Polo Equipment, Stable Management and Grooming, including feeding and exercise in preparation for polo, Veterinary
and Farrier, Tack and Bitting.
3.30pm 'Stick and Ball' session / practice chukkers with discussion covering tactical plays on the ground, hooking,
riding off and positional plays in the game.
5.00pm Finish with afternoon tea and time to relax.

Additional evening chukkers can be booked if required as can extra coaching. These can also take place over the weekend
